The lion and the Gazelle
What is the sole reason behind this your burning desire? . . .
A desire? I asked myself the question again.
Is it about desire or about surviving? Is it about surviving or living beyond a normal or average life?. . . Which life? A life that is beyond my own alone, a life that is not solely for my family and many more in my society but for every soul I come across. An empire it looks like I say to myself.
Yes, An empire was what I what was in my mind to build in my response to the person but I remembered a story of two animals in the African forest "Lion and the Gazelle" narrated by Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Al Maktoum (The ruler of Dubai) in the opening of his book, "my vision".
He said "With each day in Africa, a gazelle wakes up knowing he must outrun the fastest lion or perish. At the same time, a lion stirs and stretches, knowing he must outrun the fastest gazelle or starve. It is no different from the human race. Whether you consider yourself a gazelle or a lion, you simply have to run faster than others to survive."
With this, I now realized it is not even about building an empire, even to live the day you must strive and run faster. So, it is not only those who want to build an empire like that of a lion must run fast, even those that desire nothing have to also run faster like that of gazelle.
The truth is, life is a race and we are all racers: The faster you can run the longer you will live it.
Stand up today and every day of your life, always see yourself in the position of the two animals, then life will be yours.
